“BRUSSELS European Union governments agreed Tuesday to ration natural gas this winter to protect themselves against any further supply cuts by Russia as Moscow pursues its invasion of Ukraine. EU energy ministers approved a draft European law meant to lower demand for gas by 15% from August through March. The new legislation entails voluntary national steps to reduce gas consumption and, if they yield insufficient savings, a trigger for mandatory moves in the 27-member bloc.” Read more at: https://www.mercedsunstar.com/news/article263827467.html#storylink=cpy
“As more U.S. natural gas pipelines shut down due to climate concerns and the regulations prompted by them, the country is becoming increasingly reliant on foreign natural gas resources. One of the main importers of natural gas, Massachusetts, is reportedly increasing its liquid natural gas (LNG) imports from Trinidad and Tobago in South America over 2,300 miles away, at an estimated cost of over $8 per thousand cubic feet (MCF). The nearest American oil field, Marcellus Shale, is several hundred miles away and much cheaper: under $5 per MCF.
The Daily Wire asked one of the largest energy providers in the Northeast, Boston Gas (National Grid), about the natural gas imports. We also asked them what additional costs would be passed onto customers. Spokesman Bob Kievra didn’t offer specific answers to our inquiries. Instead, he relayed that natural gas service would be reliable and uninterrupted.” https://www.dailywire.com/news/american-power-crisis-ahead-natural-gas-imports-increase-following-democrat-driven-pipeline-shutdowns

“Taipei, Taiwan – The latest cut in Russian natural gas flows to Europe threatens to further destabilise energy security in Asia and could accelerate a move away from liquified natural gas (LNG) in the region, experts say.
On Wednesday, Russia’s state-run energy giant Gazprom cut gas supplies to Europe via Nord Stream 1 to just 20 percent of the pipeline’s capacity.” https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/7/29/russias-gas-cuts-throw-fuel-on-asias-energy-security-fears
As an American I must question why we are not helping our allies with the gas they need. We certainly have the needed gas to help them out. If we cannot help our allies, how can they be considered friends and allies? They certainly could turn their backs on us in retaliation for our lack of caring.
