I recently noticed two articles in the Jerusalem Post regarding “Israel psychic” Uri Geller.

2. “Sara Netanyahu bends her mind with psychic Uri Geller The First Lady posed with the always-game Geller as he held aloft some samples of the cutlery he is famous for bending with his brain waves. It was a week with much to celebrate for the Netanyahu family. Following the prime minister’s win in the Likud primaries, his wife, Sara Netanyahu, stepped out to party on Friday morning with famed psychic Uri Geller, according to a report on the entertainment site Pnai Plus.” “While Geller could certainly have called the victory, as did virtually all the pundits, he seemed predictably delighted as Sara Netanyahu dropped by the Altman Gallery in Jaffa to join in the celebration of his 73rd birthday and of his artworks, which included ceramic plates Geller had adorned with drawings.”

In times past God (Yahweh) forbade His people to follow other god’s and listen to mediums. This is clearly stated in the following passages:
Leviticus 19:31 (NASB 1995) “‘Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.’”
Leviticus 20:6 (NASB 1995) “‘As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.’”
God chose the people from the twelve tribes to follow Him. Others would know they were his chosen people because He would protect and bless them.
He led them out from Egypt and across the Red Sea to dry ground. Moses went to the mountain to meet with God. God gave him the Ten Commandments. Yet while he was with God, His chosen people were in the process of making a golden calf to worship, instead of relying on the creator of the universe.
What a short memory they had of His goodness.
Since the exodus from Egypt God’s chosen people have rebelled against him time and again. They were dispersed throughout the nations. During the Second World War they were severely persecuted, six hundred million were killed by the Nazi’s. In 1948 God was again gracious to them and they were given a homeland. They once again became a unique nation. Yet today there are some of His people that still choose to seek out mediums. You would think by now they had learned to rely on Yahweh. Yet some still seek out other sources rather than God.
