Many people today are concerned about the environment.   Drought has stricken many nations.  In some nations it is so severe that the people suffer food shortages and animals lack sufficient food.

Many like to put the blame for this on people.  They say pollution of air, land and water come form carelessness of people and there ignorance of the ramifications of what they do.

In the United States lakes Mead and Powell have lost water volume.

“Colorado River Shortage

Federal officials, for the second time, are reducing the amount of water Arizona, Nevada, and the country of Mexico can draw from the Colorado River as an ongoing 23-year drought drains the two largest reservoirs in the US: Lakes Mead and

In January, the Lower Colorado River Basin (see overview) will operate in a condition known as a Tier 2 shortage, in which Lake Mead has hit below 1,050 feet above sea level. The federal government next year plans to withhold 21% of Arizona's yearly water allocation, 8% from Nevada, and 7% from Mexico (see details). California and the Upper Basin states of Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and New Mexico, don't have planned cuts yet. More than 40 million people rely on the river for drinking water, electricity, and agriculture.

Lake Mead is hovering around 1,040 feet above sea level, or at 27% capacity—the lowest point since 1937. The record low water level has exposed four sets of human remains so far. “ 1440 Daily Digest <dailydigest@email

While people like to say that these environmental issues are new, they are not.

Psalm 107:33-36 New American Standard Bible 1995

“33 He [a]changes rivers into a [b]wilderness And springs of water into a thirsty ground; 34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He [c]changes a [d]wilderness into a pool of water And a dry land into springs of water; 36 And there He makes the hungry to dwell, So that they may establish [e]an inhabited city,”

“The Psalms date from anywhere between the 15th - 13th century BC and 400 BC.[8] Although the exact timing of the writing of Psalm 107 is uncertain, it was most likely written during a time of increased union among the Jewish people during the reign of King David (1010-970 BC).[9][10]”  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psalm_107

In the preceding article Lake Mead had a low point in 1937.  It rose again.

God has said that at some point is time this planet will wear out.

 Isaiah 51:6 NASB

“Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.”

2 Peter 3:10 NASB “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.”

While man may contribute to the end of the earth, God has ultimately knows about its annihilation.

2 Peter 3:11-12 New American Standard Bible 1995 “11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!”

Why should our conduct matter?  There is life after death.  Christ defeated death when he rose on the third day.  Our choice is where our life will reside after physical death.  In heaven or hell.  The choice is up to us.

How do we know where we will spend eternity?

John 11:24-27 New American Standard Bible 1995 “24 Martha *said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are [a]the Christ, the Son of God, even [b]He who comes into the world.””

If you believe that Jesus is the way to eternal life you will have eternal life.
