On October 7, 2023 Hamas attacked Israel, killing some 1200 people and kidnapping 250. That Saturday night the Israel Security Cabinet declared war on Hamas. Note the war declaration was against a terrorist organization and not a geographical entity, though the terrorist organization resided in and controlled Gaza.

According to Hamas run Gaza Ministry of Health 41,788 people have been killed in Gaza and 96,700 injured. https://abcnews.go.com/International/israel-hamas-war-death-toll-1-year/story?id=114458943#:~:text=Deaths%20and%20injuries.%20In%20Israel,%20about

According to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs about 8700 Israeli’s have been injured. AP news reported that 1200 Israeli’s were killed on October 7, 2023, and that as of October 7, 2024, one year later, 720 Israeli soldiers were killed. https://apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-hamas-war-anniversary-statistics-e61765035c725b3c8d4840e2bab565cd

I believe that the huge disparity between the deaths in Gaza and Israel can only be attributed to Yahweh. He initially chose the 12 tribes as His children, and in Israel today are the descendants of the 12 tribes. If you read the Torah, and the Old Testament you will find that unless these people specifically rebelled against God, He would protect them.

Historically they rebelled many times, and He allowed them to suffer the consequences of those rebellions. Ezekiel 36:16-20 King James Version states “16 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman. 18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: 19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. 20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the Lord, and are gone forth out of his land.”

Yahweh permitted the Holocaust so He could return His people to the promised land. In May of 1948 Israel became a nation. Descendants of the twelve tribes returned to Israel. “33 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.” Ezekiel 20:33-34 King James Version

“8 “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, 9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 11 “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. 12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. 13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  Isaiah 41:8-13 New International Version

The land that they inhabit is contended by some to be land that belongs to the Palestinian people. God gave this land to the twelve tribes about forty years after they left Egypt. Yet this is the land that was designated for Israel in current times. The enemies of Israel have written charters that call for the annihilation of Israel.

The protection that God is currently giving Israel, will appear to be withheld in the future. In His ultimate plan He will allow all nations to come against Israel, they will flee to the mountains and Jesus Christ will return and the armies coming against Israel will be destroyed.

“15 “Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17 [a]Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18 [b]Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22 Unless those days had been cut short, no [c]life would have been saved; but for the sake of the [d]elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the [e]Christ,’ or ‘[f]There He is,’ do not believe him. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will [g]show great [h]signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the [i]elect. 25 Behold, I have told you in advance. 26 So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them. 27 For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:15-27 New American Standard Bible 1995

“19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs [a]in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with [b]brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.” Revelation 19:19-21 New American Standard Bible 1995

God will protect His people and ultimately Israel’s enemies will be destroyed.
